Default Fu Man Chu Lion.

Well I am preparing my tank build list and want something with a splash of coolness.

So I cannot find any good references so I am wondering if anyone here has experiences with these fish. I was wondering if I could put him in with a pair of black and white clowns? If he only gets to 4 inches (I have found conflicting information that they get to a max of 4 inches to a max of 6 inches depending on the source) i would think the clowns at 3+ inches would be safe. Also, if I kept him well feed he should be more docile.

Any thouhgts from the more experienced people?

I know my spelling and grammar suck. I work with numbers not letters. Get over it.

From my knowledge of lions they grow to max size very fast, even dwarf lions as the Fumanchu any fish/invert in the tank that can fit in their mouth, they'll make it fit I wouldn't trust one with clowns, they are a cool looking fish though

+1

Yes they do grow very fast. i know the Volitans can reach max size within 1 year. Their mouths are decieving, they open quite a bit bigger than it looks like it would. Im not sure i would trust him with your clowns.

yeah but Volitans can get like 12+ inches I think, their not a dwarf, still same theory applies most all lions share the same aggression and appetite

30g with good filtration would have to be a species only tank and within a year he'd need a bigger tank, I think that is the minimal size recommended for a fu man chu

They have big mouths for their size, similar to Grouper and should not be trusted around smaller fish such as Percula Clowns.
