They are found in brackish water in the wild and you are suppose to keep them in brackish water, but most LFS's don't know that. _________ Got Questions? Need Answers? "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it." Andre Gide

another thing, mollies are good for cycling a saltwater set up because they are super cheap in comparison and easy to catch unlike damsels.

| How do you convert Mollies to saltwater? How long does it take? I thought about putting them in my quarantine tank to keep it going between fish, is that ok?

Thats fine. Start a small tank, use like 1/2 cup of salt per 3g of water, over a week or so gradually bring the level up to match your tank..... Or I would just toss half a dozen in and the strong will survive. I use to do that with mollies a guppies when I used them for feeders. I had saltwater guppies for like 6 months untill my pseudo finally found them hiding behind a return.

in theory, for 3g of water, it should take 3 days to get it up to speed. I would use like 10g though, it would slowly bring the level up. Start out with 1.5 cup of salt for the 10g of water, then half a cup daily for 7 days after that.
