Default foxface

As if I weren't having enough trouble with my hair algea my wife just called and said the Foxace I bought Saturday was dead and against the pick up for the closed loop. Don't know what happened there. It acclimated fine Saturday (2.5 hours) and ate yesterday. Yesterday evening it got caught by the other pick up but we saw it and turned the closed loop pumps off. Other than strainer imprints on it's side it seemed fine. Swimming fine etc.

Don't know what casued that...

Chances are it was too weak (from illness or whatever) to get away from the intake tube Sorry for your loss...I hate it when fish die

I bet he ate the algae I have heard of this many times and have seen it once well not seen but had a good friend in Richmond to tell me the same thing it ate some of the byropis and died a day or so later.

KOgle...could you possibly post a close up picture of the algae that you've got because if it is bryopsis, it could be what killed your foxface.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't really know what I could do to prevent this from happening again. I bought the longer pick up tubes becasue I knew there would be a lot of water being pulled though them. 1800 GPH each. None of the other fish seem bothered by them. Maybe he was just sick. I really felt good about the acclimation and the appetite though. Oh well, the mandarin seems to be doing fine. Eating pods like a pig! If the six line leaves him alone he should be fine.

Well as embarrased as I am to post pictures of my algae farm I'll get some tonight. I'm almost 100% positive it's hair algae.

No making fun though
