| Floating Fish Well it finally happened....Came home from work to find my 5inch Diamond Goby floating belly up in the corner of my tank. I'm not sure what went wrong either. My guess is that I just stressed it to death. I placed in two new powerheads, and installed my new lights. He was gilling pretty heavily last night and didn't even eat. But o'well now I get to decide on a replacement. _________ 55 gal All-glass 760w MH

| Check out all other possible problems also before adding another to tank...temp, water params, O2, etc.
Get another fish for sure. Might be worth being safe and do a large water change before putting into tank...
Fish take time to get used to new lights. Only run for short periods initially.

| Yeah, stress coulda got him but check for other possibilities that might claim some of the other fish too later down the road. He might have been the least tolerant to something that is goin wrong.
Evan.

| Thanks for all the info, I did immediately check my water parms and all was good and I still did a water change just to be sure. All of the other fish, inverts, and new corals are doing great. How do you check for stray voltage, I don't expect that to be a problem with my two new Koralia PH's but I guess there's a chance. |

| Not with your finger please! Voltage meter or something similar, easy way to fix or prevent I should say is a ground probe like this one _________ I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one. | Sorry to hear about your fish What were you feeding it when it was alive? I have found that most if not all of the sandsifting gobies tend to starve to death if not fed meaty foods like mysis and blackworms so if it was only eating flakes, it could be that's what did it in. |
