Female Maroon Clown

While my female maroon pretty much leaves other fish in the tank be, unless they approach her clutch of eggs too closely...she really does not like me.

Not will she only go into attack mode when I approach the tank, she will readily and repeatedly strike any fingers or hand anywhere in the tank.

Last night she literally jumped out of the water to bite my hand as I was netting out some asterinas...

ouch...she has a nasty nip and can even draw blood if she gets you just right.

What a bi%$^ch!...

The other inhabitants approach front glass to showoff and preen when I am close by, even the little dragonette (probably just food begging)

Talk about "biting the hand that feeds..."

I've also been nipped by my solo maroon clown while doing something or another in the tank. It always startles me so much that I quickly pull my hand out and spray water all over the room.

I am convinced its the red color, it seems to make them grumpy, mine hate every one, they bite anything that gets within 1 foot of the offical off limits, I have made the mistake of moving rocks and wham they chew on me,both of them the big one and the little one, my nervous roya gamma has to soft shoe between the clarki anemome and the red marron corner he gets his tail nipped daily. The tang and the angel seem to be igonored bye everyone they must be real bad arss.
And if you manage toward the center of the tank a little 4 strip damsel comes shooting out of the rock like a crazed devil fish and rips a chunk out of you. I don't worry about sharks its the litte fish that scare me at the beach.
so its pretty dang dangerous place to be in my tank, and that little pistol shrimp get all ticked of at someone 3 inches under the sand and you hear the snap pop, probably some bad ars brisittle worms in his caves again.
how any one survives in those saltwater tanks its a miracle.
