eels

do you think you could pair up a couple eels without them fighting all the time

at the moment i have a snowflake and a ribbon eel in 9gal, the snowflake looked like it was going to tear the ribbon eel apart but it really looked like a love bite.

i had a black ribbon eel with the snowflake before and it was the snowflake again that was giving out a bight or two, but i think its purely territorial. they never hunted each other out.

so what eels are you planning on pairing?

I was thinking of getting a blue ribbon eel and putting it with my yellow headed moray

I had a Snowflake and a Chain and they did ok together as they were fairly small with alot of live rock for hiding spaces and the tank was a 75. However when it came time for feeding it was anything goes! Just be careful and watch as aggression can result at any time.

the blue ribbon eel will not eat your yellow headed moray, He is a very gental eel, even when catching his prey, usually small fish. their tactic is to gently sneak up like their just havin a look nothing to be afraid of and then munch.

the other one i cannot say, its a much larger eel and could be fending its territory, i'd say that you should introduce the blue ribbon eel on the other side of the tank and make sure he has a place to hide once he is happy with it he won't stray too far, and if he does get a love bite he will back off.

thanks for the help I think Ill give it a shot if it dont work I could put in a tank divider
