What did the lfs feed it? I used to feed mine feeder guppies, if that helps.

Feeder guppies and gold fish are very high in fat that lionfish cannot metabolize, it will collect in their livers and eventually kill them.

If you can get live silvesides at a reasonable price lions will eat them. Also the live little feeder shrimp will work. Both of these will be expensive long-term.

You can get a feeding stick and wave/wriggle the krill and see if you can get it too eat. As Phil indicated, it would have been a good idea to see what prepared foods it ate at the LFS before bringing it home.

There have been occassions when lions will not eat and starve to death, let's hope this isn't the case here. Get back in touch with your LFS and keep us posted.

Just tryin to recreate God's perfection in a glass bowl. 20 Gallon Reef W/Live Rock, mated pair of Maroon Clowns, Softies, 110 watts PC 10,000k lighting, and skimmer.

Wow never heard the fat thing before thanks! I have used feeder guppies because goldfish are so much dirtier. How is the lion doing? I traded mine in a swap for some stonies I was dying for.
