| Disease? Hey, my clown that I posted about a couple days ago that doesn't look so good has a long string of feces hanging from him (ie a big long turd). A friend mentioned that it might be a digestive system disease, but couldn't remember the name. Does anyone know for sure? What is it? Can it be fixed, or is he toast? Any help would be greatly appreciated. How much are you feeding and what exactly ? | Ditto, if this is a problem, then all my fish are ill. Quite common i think. Specially if you feed too much.
One feeding a day small amount usually wont have this side affect.
Man, you should see what my large FW Pleco does, yikes, typically up to 5" dragging along.
If it looks like poop, smells like poop, well, just wait for it to fall off.
Other than that, I havnt seen any weird digestive disorders where inards falls out.
However, check out Fish Fecal Disorders
To be safe ..
\Good luck though.

| Added' I would change up the fish'es diet ,like some other frozen shrimp.
I purposly don't feed frozen brine every night, I'll feed the dried sea weed to the others
and my black and white is kind of forced to eat a little of it.
( hence he's gettin a little fiber in his diet )
And I have wittnessed him eating pods, when i don't feed frozen foods. ( i actualy skip feeding all together other day, or
3rd day , makes my tang take care of any unwanted algae that's around.)
The point i was getting to' was that you may be over feeding and only one type of food
to your fish.
I would suggest changing the diet a little and don't feed the same thing over and over again every night. |

| What color is the poop? If it's white, then your clown may be sick. If it's "normal" color, they he just needs to learn how to pinch it off |

When he was looking healthy he had a strand but it was darker, him and the female both get those and I've never been worried. But this time it has been white and it has hung on for days. Usually the healthy crap seems to fall off within a couple hours for both fish. I bought some frozen brine yesterday to switch back and forth with the flakes that I have been feeding every other day. I plan on target feeding my frogspawn and I'm sure the fish & cleanup crew will be more than happy to clean up the leftovers, kinda an extra half feeding for the fishies. AM, do you have any links that could help me decide if it is a problem or not? Thanks for the responses everyone, I'll be back later today to check in again... |

| Thanks am, helped a bunch. I am going to try soak the flakes in garlic tonight to see if that will entice it to eat. Also, like mentioned above, I'm going to feed a small amount of brine shrimp the days I don't feed flakes. Hopefully this will get him eating. I'll keep everyone posted, thanks!! |
