Default Clownfish

Question,

I just added 2 perculla clowns to my tank, one is larger than the other. They aren't mated that I can tell but they do sleep together at night. I'm worried about the small one though, he doesn't eat well at all. He will eat maybe one little piece and then just look at the rest. I've tried brine shrimp, dry food and adding garlic to the food with the same result. His buddy eats like there is no tomorrow. They have been in the tank a week now so I don't think it's stress.

Any ideas?

Don't worry.

Will eat when it gets hungry enough.

Try a little garlic extract with food.

May just be intimidated by other clown.

They will eventually "mate up" after a bit of squabbling between themselves.

Larger one will beat up smaller, and become the female.

Good Luck!

Ditto to what Omar siad, I have two clowns also. I have one that has been with me for almost 10yrs and I just added another one like 6-8 months ago(from Tangster) and I dont see him eating as much but he's alive and kicking. Not to worry, he'll be fine.

one of my two clowns didn't eat for over a week; but she just recently started eating....and quite enthusiastically i might add

Adding the garlic didn't really do anything, I just kind of had to wait until she "felt like it". They seem to enjoy the frozen brine and a few flakes now and then.

I was worried too, but it all worked out

eh, got home last night from work and clownfish was on the menu. Hermits were having a feast. Must have been something else wrong with him.

So I went last night and picked up another one, added it to the tank. Soon as I put him in the established clown went right up to the new one and started convulsing and doing all kinds of dances. The new clown looked at him like he was crazy and swam off, they spent the rest of the night swimming around together so at least they are getting along. The new clown ate along with everyone else so I feel better about this one.
