Default Clown and Flame angel turning dark

Hello everyone.

I have a Flame angel in my 55 gallon that started getting this black hue to its orange color. It looks exactly like you took the fish and misted it with fine spray from a spraypaint can. Darker on the top while fading to bright orange near the middle of the fish with pure orange (the natural color of the fish) from the middle down. When I added my Clown from my other tank he got the same dark hue to its body.
Do you understand what I meen about being spraypainted?

I cant get a good pic of this yet but will keep trying.

A little more history. I have been battling ICK in this tank since before christmas. I did the remove all fish thing for 45 days while treating the fish in QT tank but after 2 months the ick is coming back occationally. little by little with worse outbreaks lately. My main question is what is the dark coloration not how to treat ICK.

Thanks everyone
Jay

Velvet is a parasite which appears similar to and is often confused with ich. The difference is that velvet covers mostly the body of the fish and is a smaller "powder/dust" instead of salt like bumps. The parasite moves from fish to fish in the form of flagellated (tailed) spores, which can live away from the fish for at least 24 hours and probably much longer. It is usually introduced with new fish and can develop into a serious problem. Like similar diseases it can be caused by overcrowding, stress, or poor water conditions. The gills are usually the first thing affected, heavy infestations on the gills may kill the fish without causing any obvious signs of the disease. Velvet affects different species in different ways. Danios seem to be the most susceptible, but often show no discomfort. The disease is also persistent among killifish, anabantoids, goldfish and marine coral fish. This disease is highly contagious and can be fatal.

The life cycle of the parasites responsible for Velvet is similar to the ich parasite’s life cycle.
Dinospores form a root like structure and become parasitic on skin, fins and gills.
After 3 – 7 days mature parasites fall away and swell up.
Each cell divides inside a cellulose cyst, producing over 200 spores.
The spore, so-called dinospores are released and have two obvious flagella
These change into mature dinospores as they complete the infection cycle. They can survive for several days without a fish host

No I dont tink that sounds like what they have. I will get out the Macro setting and see if I can get a shot. This stuff looks like they were airbrushed with a shadow.
My water condition is perfect. I keep up on the maintenance meticulously with this tank. Pretty big chunk of change I have all wrapped up here. I guess mabey I need to quarantee all the fish again. Man that is such a huge pain in the arse. I dont mind catching the fish its the constant maintenance on the quaranteen tank while they are in there. With no biological filtration its like im siphoning the bottom of the glass every day.

Im off with my camera and will be back when I have a pic of this stuff.

Thanks guys'
