| i fell in that trap , i believed a LFS store clerk and bought a $80.00 GBTA that pretty much went to @#$% in a matter of months. now 2-3 years later its just coming back when i put T5ho on the tank its taken another 6months to start to fill out again and it split last week !!:Halloween49:
so moral to the story lights and good water parameters , stable temp are very important with keeping anemones .. _________ 4x24w T5ho 135ltr/35gal marine cube 15kg of liverock Mandarin Goby Got Questions? Need Answers? |

| In general, I think anemone's do need a good deal of light. My big one in my main tank parked itself pretty much right under the 250w HQI pendant I have on one side. Has done very well over the years...
However I do have a couple small GBTA's in my 12 Gallon Nano, with only 24w of light. May be small size of tank, and close proximity to light, but they appear to be doing ok (since ~June)...not growing much but look healthy. _________ AG "125," AquaC EV 180, 30 gal sump, "SCWD", 80 lbs LR, CoralSeaLife "Moonlite" Hood, PFO 250W HQI Mini-Pendant (SPS HQI 14000k bulb)
12 Gallon NanoCube - 24w stock PC 50/50 light "...nothing good ever happens fast in a reef tank, only bad things happen fast..."

Plants require much different light strength and spectrum so if the lid has bulbs to grow plants, I would rule out using them to grow corals or anemones. |
