Default cardinal and shrimp....good or bad?

i've read, as always, conflicting reports about people mixing bangaii cardinals and shrimp. what are peoples experiences with this. i am looking at getting some peppermint or camel shrimp as well as a blood shrimp.

I had a pajama cardinal eat about $300 worth of cleaner shrimp. Once the fish gets big enough to fit your shrimp in its mouth, it may very well eat them.
