Default Calling all Royal Gramma Experts.

About a week ago I picked up a Royal Gramma and he appeared to be doing well, but the last few days I can't seem to find him anywhere in the tank. I've read that they are hiders and burrow into holes in the liverock but does anybody else loose theirs for days at a time?

I don't think it's completely unheard of ... at least not when they are first introduced into the tank. How long after you put him in did he go missing?

Our Black Cap Basslet (a close relative of the Gramma) was completely MIA for several days when we put him in. Now he's out in the water column most of the time.

Mine used to disappear for days just when I thought I would need to look for him poof he would appear. The royal gramma used to hide in the sand at times too. My blackcap would lurk just under the rock ledges and drift around during feeding times or right before lights out

He's been in the tank for about a week and was visible now and again for feedings, but just recently say the last 2 or 3 days I haven't seen him at all.

I'm sure he's fine.....

have fun fishing the RG and the damsels out in a couple of months-they are SOB's. JMHO but you have alot of potential big fish for a 90 (40-50 gl plus rock) gl tank. and the G1 is not enough for that much livestock JMHO
