Thumbs up Bleeny eating

well after 5 months of having the goofy guy, my lawn mower bleeny is eating dry food, . Ive always had enough algae to eat, but now I feel better knowing he will eat dry food when the algae gets low. How long did it take for your bleeny to start eating??

I've got a lawnmower now that eats just about everything but I understand your relief! I've had 3-4 lawnmowers that would eat NOTHING but algae and it was really difficult to watch them wither away after their food supply ran out!! Congrats on your sucess!

Months but it happened to coincide with feeding mysis for the first time. After that he would eat anything.

I was never able to keep my Lawnmower Blennies for too long. And I had an established tank, but for some reason it wouldn't eat food that I fed my tank. I would see him scrapping the rock work for algae but i couldn't entice him to eat formula one or seaweed.
I have a Red Lipped Blenny now that I have had for about 7 months now and it seems to do well and eat for a while, then he will get real skinny for a period of time and lose coloration, then he will rebound again!!! I don't know what to do with these types of fish. I offer a wide variety of food stuff for my fish as well as corals, clams and inverts!

hey coral reefer i have a 2 scooter dragonette's(pair) and they do the same thing will get really fat and eat a ton, and then slowly get skinny again, and then rebound again.

ive had them for a yr now, doing this. ive got the male to eat new life spectrum pellets, they say its good for finicky fish. and its got alot of good stuff in it.

its got alot of vegetable matter in it, maybe its worth a shot for the algae blennys.
