Angry Bad News!! ICK!

Well I just thought everything was going good, but this morning I turned on the lights and noticed some spots on my majestic, and my female clown!! It had to have come from my majestic. I didnt qt it because LA said it was qt for 2 weeks before I bought it. I guess the stress of shipping must have gotten to it. But I dont know how the clown got it. Clowns are really hardy, and it hasent showed any stress signs. I hope my cleaner shrimp can help. Will loweing my salinity help?? Will it hurt the angel?? I know the damsels, and clownfish can handel it, ive just never had an angel so I dont know. I will have to remove the cleaner if the salinity gows down right? This makes me mad, you spend so much money on a fish and it gets sick!! Oh well, ill just take it one day at a time, and see what happens. Wish me luck!!

Michael

lower the salinity. what is it at now? i have never had to take a shrimp out for lower salinity. but thats IMO. high salinity yes. and rapid drops in salinity as well.

but do it slowley over the next couple of days.

Thanks man. Right now it is at 1.025. So I will slowly lower it to around 1.015 in the next few days. I hope it is just ick, and not velvet!!

not even to that much. you salinity stays high like mine does. i would take it to 1.022-1.020 and see how that helps. also take to those levels over the coarse of 3 days. a little each day.

Ok, that sounds better. I read to take it down really far, but it kinda scared me. Salt fish cant adapt to freshwater very easly.

As funny as it sounds its true, lol. But on the other had, a little aquarium salt in a freshwater tank will help relive stress, and help kill ick.

i know i still do it to the 75 i have. but that tank is on its way out. so anyway, do it like that and you should be fine. the other thing is monitor that angel as closley as possible because the others will be fine.

the angel is already stressed form moving into the new tank, shipping and all the rest. so that is the most important thing for now.
