I was wondering if I could keep sps with these parameters. 0-.05ppm phoshates, 10-20ppm nitrates, 450-460calcium and 8drops on carbanate. Test is with API. Water flow is about 450 return, koralia 2, maxi jet 900. I also have a maxi mod but not on right now. 175 mh with 36" vho actinics. My tank is a 56dt with a 15 sump. Pm skimmer.

You would want to get the nitrates below 10 and preferably below 5.

Monti is generally easier then most sps corals. The addition of a fuge would help with those nitrates and phosphates. From my understanding phosphates are worse than nitrates but either way a fuge would bring both of this to zero probably.

You can get a hob fuge. I really hate putting macro in the tank as it can be a pain to get it all out when you decide to remove it. I put a ball of cheato in my display to try and choke out some hair algae and on top of it getting blown out from under the rock I place on it and choking a power head I'm still pulling out starked of it months later.

Most can be modified in the back without problem.
