A have a frag of Protopalythoa Grandis that has been stung by my anemone (several days in a row). I moved it a few days ago but it has not been opening up at all. However, i can see two new heads beginning to form (very slow grower, BTW). Will this coral mess up my parameters in my tank if it dies? Also, it hasnt lost its color or anything, it just hasnt opened up in over a week. How will i know if it is dead?
    Thank you,
    JP

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I think is has a good chance of making a come back if no longer being stung by the anemone. It may stay closed for awhile though. In a tank your size it should have no impact. Perhaps run some new carbon if you feel it would be a benefit.

I assume you're speaking of one head? In my experience, when a paly/zoanthid dies, it totally detaches from its mount. I can't image this harming even the smallest aquariums parameters.

    Thank you Nvisn.

    Thank you Corailline as well.

I had just heard that the Protopalytoa Sp is a VERY poisonous coral to humans and wanted to make sure that it would not have an impact on my aquarium. thank you both
