Thanks. I actually have a maroone clown in another tank I was eventually going to move to this one. I may wait a bit longer, I would hate to move him over if the tank wasnt stable enough for him. I have an attachment to the fish.

Default I Hope That Chiller Got Room To Breath

Are you sure the chiller would do well in an enclosed cabinet. I can see the rear side is vented but does the front cabinet door have a vent too? I believe the chiller pulls air from the front and expels it through the rear of the unit. You may want to check this out so as to be sure that your chiller won't be overheating itself ok. Otherwise the setup looks real neat and tidy!

Equipment:

JBJ 28g NanoCube HQI
(1) 150W HQI/14K
(4) Nite-Vu LEDs with Separate Power cord
(2) UL-Listed Accela Powerheads (266gph each/16W each)
(1) Hydor Koralia Nano
(2) Directional flow nozzles on each side of the aquarium
(1) Ocean Pulse Duo—Alternating WaveMaker
(1)Protein Skimmer (counter current) with Air Pump
(1) Integrated center overflow
(4) Integrated cooling fans (3000rpm`s)
(1) Integrated thermal protector for canopy (auto shut off protection)

JBJ Arctica 1/20 Nano Chiller
Coralife 3x Turbotwist UV sterilizer

Sand /Rock:

20lbs Live sand
35lbs Live rock (Indo)

Filters / Media:

Filter floss
(2) sm Chemipure Elite

Setup / Plumbing:

I started by plumbing the UV and Chiller into the system. I have a dedicated 290gph powerhead located in the sump moving water out of the tank, through the UV, on to the Chiller, and the returning to the sump. I decided to use a dedicated pump because I have the two pumps for the main returns to the tank on a wavemaker alternating at 30sec intervals.

The tank is running without the protien skimmer and zero photo cycle currently and has been running since Wednesday February 27th.

The live rock used was not completely cured so I have been removing "die off" regularly.

I plan to cycle the tank untill the levels are at a zero reading. I will be posting regular updates with new h20 data. Please provide me with any feedback you may have.

*More photos and data to be uploaded soon.

I had the same thought. Looks like he has a side air-intake though that would help.

Until a week ago, I used to work for the largest distributor of JBJ products in the Midwest. All three of us told Steve and Manny from JBJ that their old stand looked like crap. It was designed that way so they could have the front open. That's when they started working on this new design. I have no doubt that they've solved the airflow issues from their end, make sure you take care of it from your end. Monthly, remove the filter from the front of the chiller and vacuum it. Put it on your calendar even.

All you need to do is reach into the back of one of the side compartments....pull off the plastic tube to the return, drop a powerhead in there, possibly adjust the length of the tube, and then push the plastic tube back in. JBJ has a chiller connection kit which I highly recommend.
