SkyFire's 46 Bow Front - Update 1-1-16

Here we go another 46 bow front reef.

So far I have 14 lbs of LR. they were nearly out of the pukani I like so got a little of it and some interesting Fiji. The rest will be in the Pukani rock.

Yes I need to go & get more water today.....just ran out of time on Thursday and I can only get 15 gal at a time (I don't have more containers). So here it is so far. Next month I'll get more rock the sand and a power head. I'll move a molly from my nano over too.

 

Well it's nearly full of water now and I changed the background....the other was a temporary. I was trying to find a larger piece of the blue film that was on there but I couldn't so I got auto/home cling type plastic. So it's looking good... now to get the darn filter working right.

I can't wait to get the canopy finished and get it on my tank

May be getting some sand today. Someone in my area is taking down their tank and selling the sand for 30cents a lb! Wooohooo! Still need to get a K1 for my nano and steal it's K2 for the 46...LOL

Here's what I have so far.
1) Marineland Pro Stealth Heater 200 watt
2) Bio-Wheel (wheel removed) HOB Filter (will add sm light on top & chaeto)
3) Bak-Pak 2 HOB Skimmer
4) 14 Lbs LR
5) 2x39 watt T5 fixture (will get a 4x39watt one later)
6) A half finished custom canopy ;D

 

cant wait to see some fishies and corals in there hopefully the cycle wont take to long

 

Bout time! You will love your 46g! . I love mine. However Its a Corner bowfront

 

bowfronts are sooooooooooooo much better than corner you should of went with a BF

Yeah I can't wait to get corals and such. No sand today the guy had to go and visit a family member in the hospital..or so he said. But we're trading shrooms....I have purple he has hot pink so we're trading one head each. Yay! The pics are on my nano build but will divide them between the tanks once the 46 is cycled....am hoping won't take too long since I used pre-cycled rock and such.
