I will start posting pictures soon.

I will start the first post by telling you little bit of myself.
My name is Richard and I have been keeping tanks but only as fish only for as long as I can remember.

In time, as with everyone, I have grown up, got married and gotten a world's most beautiful baby boy. I had all the finding Nemo fish (didn't we all at one point or another?) and enjoyed my tank and shared it with my toddler son.

However one morning of 9th March, 2011 everything came tumbling down when my son suddenly passed away from SUDS.

Losing my mind, going into depression, I dove into something that I have told my self that I would never do later that year. I dove into world of corals.

I started to transform my hairline algae filled tank into a full reef tank.
    With several condition.
1.) Don't go crazy with the prices.
    2.) start slow.
3.) add alot of varieties and have alots of frags.

I first went all sps only to have my wife complain how ugly it is and now I have a good balance of flowers and sticks.

Welcome to my tank thread, this tank which is tribute to my son.
I hope you enjoy the ride and my slice of ocean.

This is beginning of the conversion on the October 2011

I won't bore with the progressions. I will show you my tank as it is today soon.

Words cans describe how sorry I am to hear your loss. Good to hear you focused some positive energy into building a tank.
I think you mentioned your in Weston. I am originally from coconut creek and a very knowledgable 3reefer, Vinnieboombatz is in Deerfield I believe. Look forward to following you thread. It is a touching tribute.

Welcome to 3reef Richard, cant even begin to imagine losing a baby... Im really, really sorry.

The tank looks awesome. So many corals and most of them are not frags anymore. More like mini colonies at least. Keep up the good work! :)

Wow word can't express what you must have gone through, and still are. On a lighter note I like progression pics. Solid looking reef, love the deepwater acro.

Thank you very much guys for the kind words and warm welcomes. Now would you believe me the most expensive piece that I have purchased from those pictures is a brain coral for 35 dollars? Rest were all 5 dollar, 10 dollar frags from my local reef club members and friends. Like I said before, giant frag tank.
