| Like I told you I deal with lights on a daily bases and as for a T-5 you can have them they are totally over rated I remember the same stuff when the P/C's hit.. those VHO light that tank up far more then any T-5's would. I think most just used the wrong VHO bulbs . I like the VHO's and until there is something that can out do them in real world conditions I see nothing to make me want to leave the Farm (: No 4 T-5's could light that deep into the tank. Also on that ballast the bulbs will run 16 to 18months not a problem so don't toss them at 9 to 12 months. The tank looks great Otty a great job you did there old boy. _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| I hate to differ, but I love my t-5's!! They are alot brighter than most VHO systems Ive seen. You know they are bright when you almost bleach a plate coral, and an open brain on the bottom of a 20" tank... It is all about reflectors. But all to their own .
Otty your tank is looking awesome!!!!! I havent looked through the forums in a few weeks, and your up and running!! I bet the fish you brought over from the 55 are in heaven, . I know that tang is lovin it. I cant wait to see that tank 6 months from now, full of corals and growth!!

I never thought a florescent bulb could light up a room so bright that it is to the point of straining your eyes. Almost like that little blind spot you see after you catch a GMAW flash, just not as bad.
Wish you lived a little closer my friend and I would let you decide from you own view....oh by the way..thought you were flying in for our local reef club meeting...
Hope all is well out in the desert, haven't seen you online much lately. Quote:
