This is a diagram of the plumbing I have for my tank. On the OM valve I have a version 2 and was wondering if a version 3 would work better. It is a simple change with a new drum that only cost a few $'s. Any one using #3, or see a benfit to changing the version I use??  _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

Wooooooooooohooooooooooo! Finally adding RO/DI water.  Should only take about 4 days to finish, but then again as slow as the unit is letting out water it may take longer...100gpd will probably only do about 60 to 70 gpd with our water temp here.  Oh well at least this water is staying in the tank this time. | |

How is the new RO unit? Did it make that much of a difference?
I guess 60~70 is better than the 20gpd you were getting with the old unit. | |

You have the rocks all in there yet ? If not I would construct them the way you want them and then toss in the salts and let it fill on up.

There is about 11 3/4" of water in it today so that should be a good start so that I can place rock. I must have been reading your mind.... | |

I probably missed it in the first DOZEN pages, but what kind of rock are you using? Base rock, I assume, since it sounds like you're going to put it in before the salt. How many pounds of rock are going into the beast?
Can't wait to see the first soggy pics...

I hated to ask but sometimes we over look the simple ways LOL I just did that myself last week like going around your elbow to get to your thump LOL Been really jammed up this weekend a new LFS here in town is having issues and I was down there today thinking a fix it plan of attack out, I'll get your stuff out ASAP. But these guys had corals dieing on the vine so to speak. Covers on all the tanks and even had the damn sump covered up totally! We went in Fri night was my first time..Then yesterday We had to go to Jersey to deliver a special Hot water heater for a friend I have to install in a few weeks. | |

Can't wait to see the first soggy pics... | I have a 110lbs in my 55 that is going in and the tank was bought with another 100+lbs that I nuked because of red slime algae. It is all just clean looking base rock at the moment, I will seed it with my LR. Been running in a 30gal trash can in the garage for the last week and a half to get a start on cycling. | |

Very cool...the idea of not only needing new (bigger & more expensive) lights but also so much more LR and sand is keeping my urge to upgrade in check... | |
