peak current can kill the voltage.. this was the purpose of the bigger diameter.. as more the tension lower the capability to move it .. i know.. electronic ballast has lower requirement.. but 1 meter of wire isnt so much expencive this is why i use bigger wires.. (for the all house i bought 5 miles of wires and i have to buy some more..)

hehe

btw.. lovelly reflectors.. i think i will buy the solar pannel to make electricity so i wont mind about MH or T5

and then there was light:

measured from the bottom of the mini LB to the water. the par readings were taken directly under the bulb on the bottom of the tank
20" 450
18" 500
16" 580
14" 650
13" 680 dead center 450 outer edges 350
12.5" 700
12" 730

i kept it at 13" which gives me enough room to work under the lights if needed. if i would have gone with 250w or 175w the fixtures would be on the surface of the water with shadows and no room to work. and we all know that aint gonna work. the pvc pipes are there to hold the eggcrate down. the bar is made out of 1' stock alluminum that i cut slots into to move the lights from side to side. the pulley system goes up and down.
