| Montipora Digitata | Ok gang I think in the long run it would be easier to set up a diary thread rather than posting different threads about my tank so here goes... I'll go back in time to right before I got this thing and show you all where I left off with the 55 gallon set up... Here is a picture of the 55 right before tear down. _________ Kris 180 gallon AGA display re-born on 7-1-08. If I listed all of my equipment my wife would know what I've spent on this thing. | Montipora Digitata | Here are some more... I guess I should be trying to give some words of wisdom at the various stages this thing is at. The only things I can add at this point is go slow. All of these pictures took place from the end of November 06 until mid April 07. I cycled the tank using 2 cocktail shrimp cut into small pieces. While the tank was cycling I kept two power heads and a heater in there. After the tank cycled (right around the first of the year) I added the DIY wet dry with the LR rubble. I then added the skimmer and an additional 70 pounds of cured LR sometime at the beggining of March. The fuge got added around the first part of April... The calcium reactor got added mid april and this past week is the first time all of my levels were in the "acceptable" range. Remember, nothing happens fast in the saltwater hobby except bad thing and savings account drains... |

| Montipora Digitata | Ok, these should be the last one's for a little while. These pictures are what the tank looks like today for the most part... In these pictures I added 100 more pounds of LR, a few SPS frags I can't seem to get a good picture of, and an additional over flow and a mag 18 return pump. I also added a wave maker to battle a cyno outbreak I had. Future plans are to add an auto top off, a closed loop, and better cooling to battle the heat of 1050 watts of pure MH power! |
