Well the seepeage hasn't stopped but it hasn't gotten any worse either.

I'm going to go ahead and drain the tank a third of the way when I get home tonight and pull the bulkhead out and re tape everything. Worked on the other one right? While I've got it drained I'm going to install the strainers on the top of the OF boxes and the strainers in the durso's...

After that I'll fill it and let it run for a couple hours. if everything is good to go I'll completely drain the tank and start gearing up to add all of the rock work back in. Planning on working on that all day Saturday...

Sounds good Otty.

Man I've been trying to figure out how many watts this new VHO set up I got is. There is nothing on the marine depot site. It's a four bulb set up (24 inch bulbs) with a ice cap 430 ballast.

Guess it doesn't really matter just curious

If its the male adapter threads leaking ? no need to drill the tank, Just plug the inside with a stub and blind cap may dripple a bit but not much most don't wrap enough teflon on them most times when I have read people telling how to tape a joint like Bob Villa or the little fix it lady on the T.V DYI station (: they say just use enough for 2 wraps LOL . I wrap them all 5 to 7 times depending on how tight I can get it .. Then a little oil on that to slick it up or good old spit soap even plain water will help, there is also a certain way to wrap it . (: Just tricks of the trade.. I watched the T.V lady one LOL she was rolling it on backwards (: as for the VHO why not just 2 72 in bulbs ? every end cap is a weak spot.. all I use is the 2. 72 bulbs .. and these have been in since Oct 06 when I gut them VHO's on

Tangster, I can't unscrew the male adapter from the bulkhead becasue the the pvc coming out of it. In hindsight I'd like to cut all of these hoses and put unions in for quick access. As for the VHO's with the endcaps I can't fit them in the canopy and get the bulbs out of the socket. In hindsight I should have thought that through a little better. I wrapped them about 4 times. Watched my plumber buddy re do the one that was originally leaking and I swear he didn't do anything different than me other than not use a wrench to tighten them... learn stuff everyday I guess.

Running 8.2 watts per gallon but that's neither here nor there. Par is the important measurement. So with me running a 400 in the center of my tank my tank is actually getting more light than yours even though you have more wattage per gallon. I Don't need the extra heat from more wattage anyhow.
