| Haven't posted to this in a few days so I figured I'd give you guys an update.
FINNALLY got my new RO/DI to start topping off the tank. Don't ask me how I fixed it becasue I don't think I did. The only thing I can think of is maybe there was a clog in the filter somewhere or maybe in the float valve itself. All I know is it's working and that's good enough for me.
With that problem out of the way I brought the salinity of the tank up to 1.025. Once that was where I wanted it I went to my good buddy Otty's house and he gave me some sand from his tank to get some bacteria started in my tank. Put that in Saturday night. I'm planning on adding a fish Wednesday or Thursday to help the cycle. Can't believe I'm finally to this point.
Only a couple of months ago I was thinking of selling everything. With some good old fasioned hard work the tank is looking better than it ever has.
I'm planning on wiring up the VHO's tonight and getting the canopy back on the tank. I'll get some pictures tonight after that's all done.
Now it's time to play the waiting game. 3 months or so and I'll turn the lights on!!! Whoot Whoot.
Oh almost forgot, karma to Otty for the sand!!! _________ Kris

| Well it's time for an update on the progress of getting this beast set back up. Got the rest of my lights wired up and tested. (VHO's, PC's for fuge, tested MH's)
Got all the bugs worked out of the RO/DI unit. Added some sand from Otty's tank last Saturday, and added my first fish to help the cycle along in this thing. The winner was my small clown fish. Little guy is doing great. Used the Tangster way moving him by hand and you couldn't even tell he had been moved. Good news I guess.
Here's some pictures of everything, 900 watts of MH in the canopy as well as 300 watts of VHO. 130 watts of PC over the fuge. Probably overkill but don't think it will hurt anything. |

Good news I guess. | Its not fish whispering (: But it does keep them calm for some reason ? It even worked for Large Mouth bass (: and anything I'd put in the live well until weigh in , I would not try it with a shark LOL With them its the old yank and tail toss for me . Tank is looking great I think you are on the way now , But next fish you add just put it in a pail or bucket and let it calm down then use the hand method you'll see it won't dash for the rocks and hide for days why ? Damn if if I know but its like anything else I do It works and thats all that counts for me . Dogs and Horses I can think like because I understand the nature of the beast but a fish ??? _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |

| About time it is on it's way. You should stick to the old school plan and get live sand and not base but that is your call. Hate to see all this work go to waste and you introduce something back into the tank. |
