Let me know what you all think. The rock should be done drying from the nuking process this Thursday. Hope to have my rock work laid out this weekend and start getting this thing filled up with saltwater...

no problemo mi amigo. I didn't know it either, I just got lucky I guess...

It worked out fine, just needed to glue the drain into a street 90...

I'll wait until you come over tonight to start draining the fresh water out of the tank. I want you to see how it's churning around!!! Who needs a maxi jet mod when you can take full advantage of the 5500 GPH you can push with a couple little giants and a mag 18!!!

Sounds like a blast... need to take a vid of everything and post it. I gotta go walking sometime tonight with my future baby-mamma, old wives tale says it will throw you into labor and she is ready to get the ball rolling!! A couple other wives tales I'll have to try tonight too

I can't wait to get rid of my MJ, I hate submersed pumps! But, with all my flow I'm pushing 3000 in my 55

(as advertised anyways

Man I got that bulkhead to quit leaking Bryce but when I checked everything this morning there is another one with a very slow seep. I don't understand how something could be sealed and after I turn the pumps off and back on it's not???? I'm hoping Russ was right (being a plumber and all) and it might seal itself. It's not even leaking enough to drip so maybe it will seal up. Hell I'm afraid if I turn the pumps off and fix that one another one will be leaking...

Did you try putting some plumbers putty on the gasket between the gasket and the glass ? The hub goes inside with the water and the shank goes outside the tank.. Sometimes a bit of putty betwen the shank nut and the glass will wtop it also. I as a rule just always do that myself ..Like a Basket strainer in a sink or a P.O plug I putty them on both sides And do not tighten it much more then finger tight then test it then tighten ass needed . These B/H if its not a good one will pull at a thread and split . I fought one here one saturday night it decided to split after a few yrs. 8:00 PM and one place open and I had none here .. Now that I have 24/7 acess to anything again its all been fine (:

It's actually seeping out where the pvc threads into the bulkhead. The bulkheads themselves sealed up fine. It's just wierd that it hasn't leaked in the past two days but I shut the pumps off to fix the one that is leaking and now a new one is leaking??? Wierd...

I did use plumbers putty on the bulkheads and a drop of 3 in 1 oil for good measure...

Hopefully this thing seats and it's not a big deal...

If you teflon them ? do about 5 reverse wraps to keep it tight if you don't reverse wrap it then it will pull and gauld when you thighen the M/adapt into the female threads also a smuge of light oil helps when doing plastic to plastic . If you just use a pipe dope that is good als Oatty has a red labeled on with teflon in it .. I myself have never been a fan of the teflon tape .. Hell back it out and use some blue loc tight (:

Wow that sucks, I would give it a couple days as long as it isn't flooding the basement!

Now that's what I'm talking about!!

More power! Put some paneling up in my sister's bathroom today and the liquid nails just didn't seem to be holding on the corners so I super glued the damn things, they were nailed down tight in 10 sec!! Kind of same thing Tang is saying, if the right way doesn't work at first, just get it done the second time! Don't know if I would do it right away but as a last resort it would be worth it!

Salt creep will cure a slow seep. LOL! But seriously, I've had leaks (dreaded ones) that have fixed themselves by the salt creep.
