In your sump you have one of your returns with a sock on it. Is there a reason for this or is it just to help with splashing water in the return?

I have them on both returns just to aid in elimination of floaties in the water I change them every other day and wash them in the washing machine every 4 of 5 days. I have 6 or 8 in rotation.
They work great

| Excellent ideal, may I ask where you purchased the socks? I cut down some straight Fluval filters to go before the media in my sump down one of the baffle chambers and it's hard to get to. The sock may take care of that. |
