| Thank you. I am currently trying to work out some kinks with a 75 AllGlass standard aquarium. I used to have it set up almost 8 years ago (also reef)but had to break it down.
I am starting anew with an old beloved hobby, However, I have changed methods since, and am facing a few problems.
system specs:
120-130 lb LR,
4 powerheads(1 osculating, two maxjet 900 and 1tunzie fan),
Via aqua 750 canister filter,
neptune heater,
Compact lighting with 2 metal halides and 4 actinics(outputs about 10w/gallon)
and about 2 1/2 inches of live sand. |

| Ya, canisters are a bit of a hassle, but I like them cuz i can use them as power heads also hehehe. I luva da powaheadz.
Ok, heres the deal, i might have one of those "cute little anemones"....
but im not sure on its id.
then i have a huge glass anemone infestation.
AND I HAVE ICH! lol.
i have quarantined all fish that i can catch(i couldnt catch the elec blue or Sgt major, or the engineer goby =[
i have resorted to just bumping up the temp and waiting for it to run its course with the damsels =[[[[
the ich has claimed many, including but not limited too(haha)
: 1 lavender tang, flame angel, foxface, two maroon clowns, 4 chromis, 5 bangai cardinals.
it was the fastest i had ever witness ich kill fish
the ich hitchhiked into the tank via flame angel apparently.
I have suffered a terrible loss, i would have quarantined the angel sooner if my 45 was setup sooner. i tried to buy time with kick ich but didnt notice any difference at all even after 4 treatments.
im using mardel coppersafe in my quarantine and it seems to be doing the job.
So, i was wondering, in my old set up, i had a UV light running about 4-5 hours a day and never saw ich once in my tank. the first time i dont use one, and i get totally wiped out of my beloved fish
Help? |
