How long did you wait to cycle? Depending on the problem, you may not need to go larger for better results. Just my $.2.

Thanks for your reply, but my tank was running good for months , I just picked up a bad fish from a lps (local pet shop) and boom. The fish I got was a scopas tang and I heard that they were prone to disease.

Well when you upgrade tanks, you will go thru another cycle. Since you do not know what killed your fish, you might want to clean everything and start over with a new sand bed etc...

Don't give up.

I'm not....as a matter of fact I'm even more determined this time. Read my post of today (Total disaster....everything gone) and you'll see that I can appreciate your predicament.

Hang in there and good luck!

I scrapped every piece of live rock and every granual of sand.

I am presently cleaning out my tank, scraping all algae from the glass, and rinsing every square inch of glass with a "water/vinegar(white)" solution. I will then hose down the tank.

Like I mentioned before I am in the same boat you are in. This time I am not taking any chances right from the start.

Good luck for your upcoming project!

Karma to you ..... hang in there
