| New and need reassurance Just wanted to say hello to all the great minds out there. I am new to reefkeeping and attempting to have a go at it. I have a 20g tall tank with a emperor 280 filter with biowheel. Korellia 1 powerhead, Nova Extreme 24" t5 fixture with 24 wt 10,000K HO bulb, and 24 wt 460mm Actinic HO bulb, 3lbs of live rock, 1 Tomato Clown, and a new addition of a long tentacle anemone.
Whats next? What did I do wrong? better to look stupid here than kill innocent fishes.
Oh! attached is a pic of my LTA and clown. Sorry about the quality I have a horrible camera.
Thanks |

| Tank was up for about 6 weeks before I added the fish and anemone. LFS guy who sold me on the light told me it would be great. Figures.
Anyway, can I add more watts by getting new bulbs |

Anyway, can I add more watts by getting new bulbs | depends on the ballast, chances are the ballast was made for those bulbs so if you want more watts you'll have to upgrade, but if ballast specs suggest more wattage then get different bulbs. |

| The tank has been up for about 3 months now and the clown was added first at about 6 weeks, 3 hermit crabs, 3 snails next all doing fine, I started the tank with live substrate per LFS instructions and had a damsel that I gave back when I got the clown cause it was mean as a snake. I test for KH, PH, No2, No3. and had a spike a while back but have had no nitrate/nitrites since. I just added the new light and the anemone last week. So I discoved the forum and here I am.
How much live rock do I need? |

| Like Luna said cycle up to 12 weeks with a mechanical filter, if your only filtration relay on the emperor it might take even longer, try adding some phos-sorb and maybe some bacteria,
has the anemone move from where you placed it? maybe is not getting enough water flow where it is.
