Default I'm a newbie!

Hey everyone! This site looks amazing. My green fungia plate coral is very sick, looks like it might be dying, but now that I'm armed with all the spectacular information from this site I can't wait to go home and rescue it.....apparently all my efforts up until now have been speeding the death process along!!!!!! My poor fungia. We have a 20 gallon tank that we have had for about three months. Up until now everything was great and healthy. I am definitely going to be checking the site everyday to keep our tank happy and healthy. So "Hello" to all!

Hello to you to. There's a lot of good info on this site. Hope you find what you're looking for and best wishes for the plate coral...

Is there any physical damage to the fungia ?
Ie - rock or other coral dropped on it? Stung by another coral?

We can help! We just need more info.

Default kinda

Our diamond back gobi kept spitting sand on it. That's when we noticed it started to turn a bleachy color....about 40% of it is bleachy looking. Then we thought "let's put it on the rock so it stops getting drowned with sand"--bad idea. I think when it had the sand on it it wasn't able to eat. What else can we do to help save it?

Iodine dip and a QT would help it.
