Howdy Folks! I supposed I oughta do this right instead of mooching off of Deb's introduction. Just thought I'd do things proper like. If one would add my time with marine tanks together, I reckon it would be around 3 years. I've had tanks on and off for 15 years; fresh and marine. I gotta go with marine...the specimens are much more colorful. I have a 110 DAS tank that I set up in June. I have added 120 lbs of Fiji LR, a 5" DSB, a nice mushroom coral colony, a few snails and hermit crabs, a sand sifting star, and an ornate goby. I am finding new hitch hikers almost daily. My LR has lots of coraline algae, many feather dusters, a couple of "ghost" crabs that hitched in, quite a bit of halimeda algae, some fuzzy tip algae, and some unwanted brown algae that I haven't decided how to get rid of it yet. My tank does not have a sump, as the original DAS tanks do not. There are pros and cons for them, I like mine just fine. I'm glad to see some of my pals here too. JV, Glampka, Deb, Nativevaman, Becky, msbdiving...there is life after RB!
