| Hey thanks for having me, New to the hobby Ive got a 55 gallon glass tank, with about 45lbs of live rock, 50 lbs of live sand/crushed coral, aqua clear filter, bac-pac protien skimmer, 175watt metal halide light, two flourecent lights that came with the tank kit. The tank has been running for two weeks, ive been testing the water regularly, and its looking good no nitrates, not nitrites, no amonia and ph is 8.2 8.4. I just added some livestock yesterday. 3 turbo snails, 5 hermit crabs, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 pyrimid snail, 3 emrald crabs. Now I plan on sitting and waiting letting the tank continue to cycle, hope that I havent added them too soon, but things look good so I will wait and see.
again thanks for having me, and I hope for good and informative advice.
Cory

| Welcome to 3Reef Obandit26. I don't think it was a good idea adding live stock this soon, specially those shrimps...they are delicate. But maybe you'll get lucky. Just keep an eye out. |

| Welcome to 3reef. I will have to agree with the additions. Have you seen any brown algae yet? That is when you need to add the clean up crew.
Hope it works out and you don't have much loss. If you take it slow you will have many years of enjoyment out of the tank. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

| Ive been watching the live stock and now Im just trying to make sure they dont run out of food, not overfeeding, just a little here and there. they seem to be doing fine, I will defanatly take the rest of this venture a lot slower, thanks |
