| Hey all Hey all,
Ive posted twice then i realized i never officially introduced myself. I have FW experience and im giving reefing a try. Ive been reading a bunch of threads and trying to do as much hw as i can. I have a 55 gal that has been up since late Feb. Parameters are good, ive just been giving the tank some time to stabilize before i start adding corals and such. I got 60lbs live rock and am in the process of adding a 20gal sump. Couldn't have learned as much as i did w/o 3reef, thanks for all the great threads guys. Looking forward to being a part of the community for a while . |

| haha thanks for the warm welcome. the plan is to start with a couple of softies, nothing too crazy, i heard zoas, xenia, and shrooms are good for beginners. I have 250 watt PC's, i want MH and will prob upgrade later in the summer (im a little tapped out at the moment lol). As for fish im thinking a pair of clowns, a lawnmower goby, a sixline, and maybe some kind of dwarf angel but i hear they can be quite hard to keep so i might hold off for a lil. what do you think about the plan? Oh and i want to introduce an anemone for my clowns, when do you think is the best time to do it? |

If you like shrooms then more power to ya but they spread like fire so make sure you really want some before adding. MH is definitely the way to go but if money is tight let it go for a little while, I just added mine and they aren't cheap! Start with the zoas and if everything goes well and your parameters stay in check go for the anemone if you want one, I'm looking to buy one here in the next couple of months. Watch fish additions and research, add them accordingly. Make sure your tank is mature enough for new additions, I'm doing that ballet now! Welcome again and keep up the good work!! |

| Anemone should be first(if you want an an anemone it should be added first). In my opinion anemones aren't easy.Dwarf angels aren't hard they are just "not that reef safe". Zoas , xenia , shrooms are great beginner corals. |
