Ive had my aquarium up and running for 6 months now and now im getting a yellow growth on my reef how can i get rid of it.

What kind of a growth is it. Hairy, fuzz, slime coat?

Odds are you have excess nutrients in you tank and increased water changes will aid in the removal. I assume you lights are also 6 months old?
