| Hello from Santa Barbara Hello All,
I am getting back into a hobby that I enjoyed for many years but had to give up about 20 years ago. I had a 180 gallon fresh water aquarium filled with Piranha for nearly 14 years. I built the tank. It had a current along the front glass where the fish would swim like in the Amazon.
I will be setting up a new Fluval Osaka 320 reef tank and have been reading and viewing posts. There is a huge amount of information here, great that you all share.
There is one question I have, has anyone used petrified logs in a salt water tank and if so what was the outcome? I have some beautiful logs left over from that original tank filled with crevise, caves etc. I have been cleaning them mainly with high pressue, hot water so that I do not add any chemicals. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Looking forward to a long time at 3reef.
Feel free to visit my other hobby, Welcome to the Santa Barbara Bird Farm now celebrating 38 years.
Thanks,
Harry |

| Welcome to 3reef and I would ditch the log. You need some rock in there to let bacteria grow on to help filter the tank. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)
