Default Hello from Ohio

Hello everyone I have setup a 58 gal. reef tank and I am open to any good advise for making it be as good as possible. I have ordered 50 lbs. of fiji rock and 60 lbs. of live sand for it so far.I Have the orbit lights with 4 96 watts and 3 lunar lights and a wet/dry filter rated for 125 gal. tank and also an coralife needle protein skimmer rated for 125 gal. tank.

To 3Reef!!!

Looks to me like you are off to a fine start! Do cycle right and run its course, and it will really pay off in future. Feel free to post pics of progress. We all like to see a new tank coming along.

Leave the lights off while cycling - just promotes algae growth.
Don't bother running the skimmer during initial couple of weeks...nothing to skim.
