| Hello Everyone I just wanted to say hello to everyone and to thank you for the great posts. I have been reading up on SW aquariums and getting more information before jumping in to the hobby.
I am finally ready to setup my aquarium. I am starting off with a nano reef. I purchased the following:
29g BioCube
BioCube Protein Skimmer
Hydor Koralia 1 (additional 400 gph - is this too much?)
50W Heater
25lbs Live Rock
Live Sand
I am still waiting for everything to come in, but I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions as to sand depth, amount of live rock, and water flow, and placement of heater and koralia. Thank you. |

| To 3Reef!!! Salutations! Glad to see you found way here!
Wow...looks like you all the right stuff for a great start.
That Hydor Koralia is going to be allot of flow for a 29g.
Mix salt, put in LR & get to cycling! ---
Keep us posted on progress.

| Thank you. I am just waiting for the rocks to come in and will start the cycling.
I was afraid that might be the case... the biocube comes with stock 316 gph... I might switch it out for a koralia nano (240 gph)... |

| Haha... thanks aquaboy... actually short for miguel... everyone calls me migs.
Also on the koralia 1... i think i can lessen the flow if it is too much by directing to the glass and help dissipate the volume... not sure if it will work though... |
