That picture is actually a Tube Anemone, not a worm, called Cerianthid! Outside tentacles serve as defense mechanisms as they are armed with nematocysts! The smaller inside(labial) tentacles are mainly for food gathering and manipulation!
They are beautiful animals!! I have one and have had it for over two years now!
