Default hello
i just got a 55 gallon saltwater tank. Im having alot of fun with it, just started to put some live rock in it. the tank and everything with it it used. everything works great except the protein skimmer. the top cup dosent fill up with water. any suggestions would be great.

Welcome to 3reef,
As for your top cup of the skimmer, you don't want water in it unless you are wet skimming. You should just have bubbles pushing their way up in the cup not water.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. If you just put in live rock, might be too early to start getting skimmate from skimmer. Sometimes takes a while for a new one to get going.
