Default curing live sand?

ok guys sorry for all the new posts in the past few days, but i am in need of some help in a bad kinda way with my new tank. with that out of the way my question is can i cure my old sand with the live rock. i really hate to go buy new sand and let all of my old sand that i payed so much for go to waste. i really hate to be cheap, maybe i will just call it being conservative. any way thanks for all the help guys.

i dont know if i would call it curing, more like reseading. soak and rinse the old sand in a bleach mixture. then rinse really really really good. after the live rock is in place and the tanks running you can get critters to liven up the sand.

just one little sps frag tank with lots of goodies

yea, that does look like a good deal, has anyone ever bought sand this way?? because I need to buy sand for my new 180gal and am not looking forward to the expense... but if this was for real and good sand it would save me a lot, even with shipping.

I bought the sand in my tanks from that guy. Worked out real well for me. It is truly all different sized grains which is what you want

I had bought 15 LBS from another person and when I got it is was so fine it when it settled you could hardly push your finger into it. I bought 30 lbs of this and mixed it with the fine stuff.

The operative word here is LFS, they mark all dry goods up really high to cover any losses that they incur with livestock. So that 3.50 a LB sand might only cost them 1.00 or so. And Holly S**T I only pay 1.25 to 1.50 a LB for the same sand, you would be money ahead buying it from Foster and Smith even with shipping, its only 1.89 a LB!
