Good question, im thinking probably not because I just started to add it maybe 3 days ago and its been there before that. But we can wait for a guru to chime in on that.

No its Hydrogen sulfide that cause the black sand .. Thats why a DSB would gag a maggot and smell like death warmed over when one is broken down after a yr or two.. It smells like boiled eggs and Budweiser (: and a hot sausage or two tossed in to get it brewing (: Every living thing is reduced to this when it dies an rots away.
