I have switched to Oceanic Sea Salt because i like the fine powder which dissolves easily, I was using IO but seemed like they had some kinda white filler in their salt which would never dissolve.

Anyway I use RO water from the local grocery store and mix it in a 5/gal bucket with a power head and a heater for at least 24 hours usually more.
The ph level of the water tests low 7.6 - 7.8 ish. any ideas? all other tests seem to be fine.

Now i could be my test kit i am using the 5 in one quick dip tests.

    Any ideas?

I only use IO, and never really had a problem with it. I mix 5g buckets a time, put a powerhead in it and in 10mins or less, its crystal clear.

9 times out of 10, you have to adjust the ph in your salt mix. I have heard that the new red sea pro coral salt has ph buffer already in it, but I have never used it so I have no first hand knowledge of it.
