| thanx ...Its been a blast.
Scott, It came with a RIO 600. Looking at the box, I believe, if I read this correctly, it150 to 175 GPH at less than a foot? is that how deep it is in the tank?
Mine is only about 6 inches in the tank.
It looks like its pumping like hell...I think I should slow it down?

| Slow it way down, you need time for the algae to soak up the nutrients in the water. I run about 30 gph across mine but it's on a 265g tank. |

| Very cool! Is it helping your water quality???
I have the CPR Aquafuge 2, but I have the small one (I have a 25G tank, so the 2.5 gallon fuge is perfect). I got the 18W Aquafuge light and have it set to be on when the DT lights are off. I put some LS in it and LR (one big piece and lots of rubble). Then I added some Cheato (full of pods and brittle stars) and Red Mangroves that I got from reefcleaners.org. The Cheato has doubled in size and the Red Mangroves are starting to sprout roots after just 2 weeks.
If you turn your power head down as slow as it will go it works perfectly! Mine is so slow that if it wasn't for the slight surface movement you could hardly tell it was on. I was afraid the cheato wouldn't do well with the water so slow, but mine is growing great!
Guess I need to post some pics of it too!!! |

| That's a nice setup. I was torn between doing something like that, and one inside my tank stand. Ultimately, I made one out of a 10 gallon I had lying around. That made my wife happy in two ways (10 gallon is no longer sitting on the floor and she can't see the fuge; she prefers I keep the setup as clean looking as possible). Hey, it's not often when I can make my wife happy twice in one try.
But yours looks great. I have no doubt you'll be very happy with it. Karma up
