    Hello,

    From my previous thread http://www.3reef.com/forums/filters-pumps-etc/sump-question-128894.html

There 3rd chamber is empty and i want to have a refugium. I was thinking of pumping water from my second chamber into the 3rd and then pumped back out into the 2nd chamber.

Also if i add a small powerhead to create flow in the refugium.

    Good idea or bad?

    Thanks

bad idea, you will never get the pumps to work together equally. use it for what its for (automatic top off) or try to cut it down and have a kind of overflow from the second chamber to the third, with the return pump in the third chamber.

you could try having a syphon from chamber 2 to chamber 3 but i doubt that would work as well

Issue is i cannot remove the silicone from the last pane of glass. I've tried a surgeons knife , nylon sting etc. I don't want to use silicone remover as it will take the other silicone off aswel.

I see what you mean about the pumps. I might end up smashing the end glass..

    Any other thoughts?
