Red Slime

Ever since I started my Fuge, the red slime has taken over! It is getting thicker and thicker! It has all these bubbles traped under it and looks discusting! What should I do, will this travel to my main tank?

Your fuge is going through the maturing process, just as the main tank did. The cyanobacteria will eventually start to diminish as the process continues.

I went through the same thing and just removed what floated to the top when possible.

got the same red slime in my refugium, will more flow help. I have 200 to 250gph. Bout how long does the slime last??

treat your system with ChemiClean. With a bad cyno outbreak like you are describing their is not much success with it just diminishing.

Gravit is right. This is completely normal. Add a little bit more flow to it and it should be fine. Also, what kind of lighting are you using and how long do you keep the light on?

if the cyano is in the fuge, then it should be ok. if it bothers you then siphon it out.

not necessary to use chemicals. besides the cyano is in the fuge and cyano consumes excess nutrients (which is good)
