| recommendations Hi All,
My tank is only small and i am ever battling nitrates in it. I want to add algae and seaweed, to try and help with the nitrates, however when ever i add the green stuff my urchin gobbles it right up!!
So no im starting to think about a fuge, just something small to put some calupera in. Any recommendations??
All the ones i have come across are quite big, and i really dont want some thing taking up precious and unavailable room in my tank
cheers in advance! _________ You will never know whats in my tank as i can only type 15 words |

| You could also convert a hang on filter into a refugium as shown here: HagenRefugArt |

| I think that might be an eyesore? I'm wondering if it will still float when it's full of sand and macro algae. I'm also thinking that it will float around your tank too much as a result of water flow from powerheads? Just thinking out loud here |

| So, with that plan, you'll have to use a non-rooting algae like Chaeto. How are you going to get water circulating through that box? I don't think it'll get enough circulation just through those little slots. |

| i dont know, does the algae alone need pleanty of flow? if its a hatchery and offers enough circulation for fish, then why would it not be enough for the alage?
maybe i'll keep looking for a small fuge, i did find one buts its on US ebay, cant seem to find it in the uk |

| All macros need good flow I'm afraid. I would think that you wouldn't want too much flow through a hatchery as the fish fry would get blown around too much. Are you handy enough to maybe try converting a hang on filter into a refugium? |
