Default Overflow bubbles??

I have a quietflow 600 overflow going into my sump, and it spirals into the pvc pipe in the outside box causing lots of air bubbles to go down the tub and into my sump causing little water droplets to shot out of the sump. It doen't matter if the if the overflow pipe for the sump is under water or above water.

How can I fix this problem? More water flow?

I dont know, just a hunch but... maybe putting a filter sock will help?? It will pre-filter your water too!

What exactly is a pre-filter and should I put it on where it goes into the sump or on the pvc in the overflow?

Here's what I did to eliminate the excess bubbles in my sump. I have a 1 in. pvc pipe from the overflow going into a 1 1/2 in pipe in the sump. The 1 in piipe goes about 6 in. under the water surface. The 1 1/2 in pipe sits on the bottom of the sump and rises to about 1 in above the surface. This creates a baffle that lets the air separate from the water

Edit: Thought a picture might help Before I put the holes in the side, the water went up like a fountain. With the holes, the water goes sideways, but the air still goes up!

A pre-filter is a filter before the main filtration. You can put it in the sump, it would be the best bet and that's where the problem is, no?
