 |  i need help
ok the fish store where i have been going for my fresh water sells salt so i decide i want salt i havea 115 gallon tank and dont know what to use for it this guy at the store is trying to sell me 80 gallon refugium what do i need fro my tank swap can any 1 plz help |

Refugiums are very beneficial for both types of tank, reef or fish only, however the benefits are more so with a reef! Plus the ability to see a whole other aspect of marine life in a refugium aids to this viable theory and a refugiums significance and symbiotic relationship with your main tank and its inhabitants!

To 3Reef!!! Salutations! Glad to see you found way here! 
WTF...  A refugium is one of the last things you need when just starting out. Use current tank as a sump if you want --- any large plastic container will do also. There are some unscrupulous LFS's out there that will try and sell you a rocket ship to help startup a SW tank. Once identified, stay away from them! 
Best advice you can get is here at 3Reef.

I think you better take it nice and slow and do a lot of reading first. yea stingrays need alot of room.they travel alot.but you do have a big tank possibly a smaller one that doesnt grow as much.i have 2 tanks and no refguim. | |

What are the measurements on your 115? That's probably not a big enough tank for a stingray. _________ Kris

my tank is 60''long 25 ''tall and 18'' wide i just bought a 60 gallon refugium with g2 skimmer and a 36 watt uv sterilizer i am going to do sugar size sand 100 lbs and 115 lbs of live rock with 60 lbs of mud on my fresh water tank i am runing 2 emperor 400 1 rena xp4 60 power compact and 36 watt uv on my fresh tank i am going to be runing 2 20 hf rios | |
